2017 Reflection

As we enter 2018, I’ve had time to reflect on the year that was at Follett & Co. in 2017. I am so proud of my team and our unique offering that I wanted to share our success with you. Follett & Co. truly is my family. My wife, Rachel and I founded the business in 2014 with the goal of delivering a boutique and personal service to an exclusive range of buyers and sellers. Since then the Follett & Co. family has grown into a dedicated team, working together and devoting all of our time and resources into obtaining the best results and outcomes for every one of our clients.

The beginning of 2017 saw Follett & Co. off to a busy start and we maintained this pace throughout the year! There was the traditional rush with buyers and sellers during the peak summer season from December to Easter. When we expected this rush to wind-up, a whole lot of new clients looking to sell and purchase entered the property market and it was one of the busiest winter season I have experienced in my 16 years of selling real estate in the Bayside area.

There appears to be a changing tide in the property market with auction clearance rates gradually easing. The market is still very much active, and whilst there will always be a market for traditional auctions, approaches such as Expressions of Interest and discreet, off market campaigns appear to be very effective options. These campaign types require unrivalled negotiation skills. We love a good negotiation!

With this in mind, were looking forward to achieving even more outstanding results for all of our clients in 2018!
